The one and only, our Medical Director...Dr. Hedy

Dr. Hedy Urueta-Mazzilli was raised in the Tampa Bay area and in 1992 returned to her home country, Colombia, to earn her Medical degree from the Pontificia Unviersidad Javeriana.  In 2002, she returned to the U.S. and completed her Family Practice residency program at Aurora Health Care - St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her Family Practice Board certification in 2008.  It was at this time that Dr. Urueta-Mazzilli decided to dedicate her practice to caring for patients in an urgent care setting. She now serves as the Medical Director of Doctors Express- St. Petersburg.

Dr. Urueta-Mazzilli and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Practice, and the Urgent Care Association of America. She is also a volunteer at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic.

Dr. Urueta- Mazzilli enjoys spending her free time with family, reading and inline skating at the local trails. She believes the way to a patient’s heart is through listening and education of the issues that concern the patient.
